Well it has been quite awhile since I last updated this site.  Many things have happened, and I will just be reporting on some of them.  In 2008, I had the staff at Merriweather Post Pavilion a little confused when I showed up twice in a three week period.  That's not unusual, but seeing Duran Duran for their "Red Carpet Massacre" tour and then Iron Maiden's "Somewhere Back in Time" Tour just might be. LOL! Talk about being polar opposites. :)

2009 was host to Metallica touring for the fantastic "Death Magnetic" at the Verizon Center in DC and an amazing "Heavy Metal Weekend back at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD.  The Heavy Metal Weekend featured Judas Priest on Saturday night, celebrating the 30th anniversary of "British Steel" and Heaven and Hell aka Sabbath the Dio Years, played that Sunday in support of their album "The Devil You Know"; in what turned out to be one of the last shows that Ronnie James Dio would do before being diagnosed with stomach cancer.  The magic of metal was in the air that weekend.  I had the great pleasure of meeting Glenn Tipton of Judas Priest that Friday.  A true gentleman, he gave me an autograph and took a picture. He even took the time to talk to my friend and I  later on as we sat in the bar.  (Thanks Glenn!) Of course Priest put on an awesome show that Saturday night, and even threw in a song off of "Nostradamus". On Sunday,  I got to see  Heaven and Hell  and Ronnie James Dio for the 3rd and final time. Looking back on it, I think the fates must have know that he was not going to be here for very much longer.  I had seen Ronnie two times before and that night he sounded like a man in his 20's not 60's.  The little man with the big voice; the voice that one day long, long, ago told me it was okay to be different; to love the sound of thunderous drums, wailing guitars and voices so strong that they can break glass. I'm glad I had the opportunity to see him one last time and be totally blown away a man who was first and foremost a musician; a true lover of music.
